Who are we ?
We are a few volunteers who run a comfortable and modem minibus which seats sixteen passengers.

Mrs. Winifred Fairburn -

Mrs.Winifred Fairburn was born right here in Horsforth and has lived here all her life. She is a widow, her late husband, George, also a fine pillar of the Community,
passing away suddenly in 1981

Winifred is a very energetic person, having been a life-long member of the Woodside Methodist Church, where she has held various offices, including that of Senior Steward. She has devoted her life to the Church and also is very conscious and hard working towards the welfare of others. At present she is Secretary of the Women's Fellowship, (a weekly ladies meeting,)

She is also the organiser of the elderly persons luncheon club, which is held  weekly in the Parlour at Woodside  Methodist Church. Here, the old people enjoy a fine lunch and a social gathering which is very much appreciated. Both of these organisations use the minibus regularly, Winifred and her friends also enjoy taking trips on the bus during the summer months. We are very happy that she has agreed to become our new Chairman.

Mr. Andrew Shearer -

Chartered Accountant. Whilst running a busy office in the heart of the village, Andrew somehow manages to find time to keep our books in order for us .

Mr. John Hardcastle -

Professional Entertainer (retired), but still involved in the Entertainment Industry by way of a booking agency he and his wife, Adrienne jointly run. ( Adrienne, however, takes the lion's share of the work-load ).  John also still quenches his thirst for music by playing the organ at a local Church each Sunday, and also 'guests' at other churches from time to time as organist for regular services and also special ceremonies such as weddings / funerals etc.

John is our Secretary, and as such, it is his responsibility to make sure that the general day to day running and operating of the minibus goes smoothly. He also undertakes a large proportion of the driving of the minibus, especially the extended tours to other parts of the country during the summer months which he personally arranges. Mr. Paul Latham and Mr. Steve Dodsworth

Two gentlemen, both retired, but not old just yet, who each in turn unselfishly give of their own free time to take turns driving the minibus.
